OptiPhos Research

OptiPhos, the most active and technologically advanced phytase product available, is supported with extensive research studies across multiple species including pigs, chicken broilers, chicken layers, turkeys and ducks. Research has been conducted by Phytex, LLC both internally as well as in collaboration with leading agricultural schools in the U.S, Asia and Europe. Phytex, LLC has also conducted numerous research trials with top pig and poultry companies in the United States.

Research has demonstrated that OptiPhos is significantly more potent than any other phytase product available. OptiPhos releases more phosphorous from feed grain in poultry and swine than any other phytase product. This results in a better diet for the animal as costly inorganic phosphorus is replaced with energy. In addition, less phosphorus in the manure/litter benefits the environment as less phosphorus is applied to farmland.

OptiPhos was developed by Phytex, LLC. Phytex, LLC has an exclusive licensing arrangement with Cornell Research Foundation (Cornell University) in the phytase area. Phytex, LLC also has a licensing arrangement with Research Corporation Technologies, Inc. for use of the pichia pastoris expression system.

Surviving the increasing cost of phosphorus has become a significant problem for swine and poultry producers. OptiPhos can solve this problem by creating a total cost savings of over $5.50 per ton of feed consumed. A top performing phytase enzyme like OptiPhos, when used in varying concentrations for swine in the 50-280 lbs range, can allow for a total replacement of all inorganic supplemental phosphorus. OptiPhos can accomplish all this while maintaining growth rates and bone mineralization, improving feed efficiency, and substantially reducing phosphorus excretions. Please view our research paper or overview article for more information.
